Mo Faal and Ollie Rathbone, among others, joined Wrexham in the summer transfer window.

And even though the transfer window closed last month, the team is about to finalize another acquisition.

Jack Guaghan reports that Josh Adam is expected to finish his transfer to Wrexham after being released by Man City earlier this summer.

After going on trial at Wrexham, he is expected to sign a two-year contract.

Speaking after Wrexham’s 3-0 victory over Shrewsbury, Phil Parkinson referenced the 20-year-old, calling him a ‘real talent’,

He said: “At the moment we will roll with what we have got.

“We have got some good players who haven’t figured much yet, so we don’t want to bring someone in for the sake of it.

“We have had young Josh Adam in from Man City on trial. He is a player we would like to keep because he has got real talent but in terms of a senior player coming in at the moment, we have got enough of those fighting for places.”

Adam, who began his career at Celtic before moving to Man City, attracted interest from Lille and Club Brugge last year following his showings at youth level.

He scored 18 goals and registered 12 assists in 99 games across the various youth levels for the Blues.

The attacking midfielder is on the verge of joining Wrexham after being let go by the Premier League champions this summer.

Parkinson’s side, who have secured back-to-back promotions, have made a blistering start to this season’s League One campaign.

They have won four of their opening five league games, scoring 11 goals in the process.

If the Welsh side get the Adam deal over the line, then he could be in contention to play against Birmingham City on September 16.

Prior to Wrexham’s trip to Birmingham City, NFL legend Tom Brady received a five-word warning from Rob McElhenney.

The League One match between the two teams will place on Monday, September 16 at St Andrew’s. Sky Sports will broadcast the match live.

Because of the American interest in the game, there was chatter a few months ago regarding conversations surrounding the third tier fixture taking place over the pond.

Wrexham was purchased in 2020 by McElhenney and Deadpool actor Reynolds, who have since received back-to-back promotions. Tom Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl winner, owns 3.3% of Birmingham but is not eligible to vote.

After being demoted to the third tier the previous season, they have spent a record £25 million on transfers in an attempt to get back into the Championship right away.

With 13 points from five games, Wrexham is currently leading the league and is also in excellent form.
