Over the weekend, the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) concluded Season Six of the KFC Elite League, capping a period of continuous advancement in local football.
There havebeen improvements this season in a number of areas, including matchday atmosphere, fan participation, local talent, and overall competition quality.
As a result of their league-wide attendance-generating efforts, the Guyana Defence Force Football Club (GDF FC) won the title at the end of the season.
Slingerz FC finished in second place, followed by Guyana Police Force FC in third. The sixth season also saw a number of significant advancements that helped the league expand.

Over 11,000 fans attended the matches, a significant increase in attendance for the league, and many more watched the matches on FIFA+ and social media.
Furthermore, the season-long behavior of fans was excellent, with no significant incidents documented, which had a good impact on the league’s general environment.
Vice-President Rawlston Adams praised the champions, Guyana Defence Force Football Club (GDF FC), for their great season-long play during the presentation event on behalf of GFF President Wayne Forde and the Council.
“GDF FC captured our attention this season with their exciting and powerful performances, exhibiting style and discipline night after night,” Adams said.
In addition, the Vice-President congratulated all of the participating teams, recognizing their diligent efforts over the previous six months.
As preparations for the next season begin, the GFF remains dedicated to advancing football in Guyana and supporting the development of young athletes across the country.
Fans can expect updates and announcements as the Federation gears up for Season Seven
