Leicester City returned to the top of the Championship following a dramatic Midlands derby win against West Brom at the King Power Stadium.
Wilfried Ndidi and Jamie Vardy’s goals in either half were enough to break a run of consecutive defeats, despite Jed Wallace narrowing the score 14 minutes from time.
Vardy also missed a penalty near the conclusion of the first half.
Leicester lead third-placed Leeds by four points with three games remaining.
West Brom remain fifth and in a solid position to make the play-offs, but they must rue a series of squandered opportunities, particularly after the interval.
The tempo was hectic throughout, with blunders on both sides adding to the tense electricity in the air. Okay Yokuslu missed an opportunity to calm the loud home crowd two minutes in by firing over, before a mishandled Ndidi pass terminated a Leicester attack at the other end.
