After leaving for the Denver Broncos in free agency, former Detroit Lions wide receiver Josh Reynolds said goodbye to the franchise and fans he had spent the last two years with, while also denying a rumour regarding his departure.

Reynolds took to Instagram on Wednesday to send a heartfelt message to Lions supporters, calling the rumour that he was leaving due to toxicity from said fans following his bad game against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game “crazy.”

“To all the Lions fans,” Reynolds wrote. “Thank you for your support over the last two and a half years. It’s been an unbelievable experience and support. The rumours that I didn’t [resign] because of the supporters are ridiculous. I still felt nothing but affection from this city. So, thank you again for the wonderful memories!”

Reynolds’ departure is a setback to the Lions offence, since he had the second-most receiving yards at the position in 2023. With his departure, adding a wide receiver this offseason has become even more critical for Detroit.
