The city of Philadelphia By NFL standards, you could set your watch for the Philadelphia Eagles. Or, to be more specific, you may have previously set your watch to Jeffrey Lurie’s organisation.

Following the dramatic collapse at the conclusion of the 2023 season and several unusual actions this offseason, at least some in the league have begun to doubt what is going on in Philadelphia.

“I just don’t know who they are,” an NFL executive told The Athletic’s Michael Sando. “I believe they lost their identities and their confidence. Teams say they want to build from the inside out, but you’ve lost two key inside guys, [Jason] Kelce and [Fletcher] Cox. Not only that, but those two men were the culture guys. If you lose those guys in a year when the head coach is already facing adversity, I don’t see it going well.”

With that knowledge, SI.com’s Eagles Today phoned a different league executive to inquire about the status of the Philadelphia organisation.

“I understand that sentiment,” the executive replied after being texted the quote. “They’re sending out [Haason] Reddick and bringing in [Saquon] Barkley? That is not business as usual [for the Eagles], no matter how you spin it.
