Following an appeal, Mets reliever Yohan Ramirez’s punishment was lowered to two games, and the right-hander will begin serving it Monday when the Mets play the Tigers.

Ramirez was originally given a three-game suspension for throwing behind Milwaukee’s Rhys Hoskins on Saturday, after Hoskins enraged the Mets with a dubious slide into second baseman Jeff McNeil on Opening Day.

The benches cleared, but no fists were thrown.

MILWAUKEE (AP) Catcher Eric Haase has passed waivers and will report to the Milwaukee Brewers’ Triple-A affiliate in Nashville.

The Brewers confirmed Monday that Haase had been moved directly to Nashville. Haase, 31, was identified for assignment on Thursday.

Despite hitting.395 with a.465 on-base percentage, five home runs, and 14 RBIs in 18 Cactus League games, Haase did not make the Brewers’ season-opening roster.

Haase joined with the Brewers in December after hitting.201 with four home runs and 26 RBIs in 89 games for the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Guardians last season. Two months after acquiring Haase, the Brewers added two-time All-Star catcher Gary Sánchez, who hit.217 with 19 home runs in 75 games for the New York Mets and San Diego.

Although Haase batted.395 with a.465 on-base percentage, five home runs, and 14 RBIs in 18 Cactus League games, the Brewers decided not to include three catchers on their season-opening roster and instead chose Sánchez as William Contreras’ lone backup.
