The NBA’s Boston Celtics have already secured first place in the Eastern Conference.
Last night, on Tuesday, March 26th, Boston played an away game against Atlanta and lost 118-120. Regardless of the outcome, the Celtics have earned the Eastern Conference’s top spot. With 11 games remaining in the regular season, they have 57 wins and 14 losses. Milwaukee, the team closest to Boston, is in second place with a 46-25 record.
This is the Celtics’ third such accomplishment since 1988 (the other two were in 2008 and 2017). From 1980 to 1988, Boston won the conference title eight times in nine seasons.
It’s worth noting that the Lakers recently set a team scoring record this season and played in the most high-scoring NBA game in 37 years. They won versus Indiana by a score of 150:145.
It is worth noting that the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Phoenix Suns in a regular season game by a score of 140-129. According to the league, the Bucks made 18 of 27 three-pointers in the first half of the game, tying an NBA record.
