On March 7, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in Tampa issued an arrest warrant for Sutton on charges of aggravated battery-domestic violence.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has recently stated that Sutton is wanted for domestic violence by strangulation, according to Ken Haddad of Click On Detroit. That offence is a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in jail.

According to ESPN’s Eric Woodyard, authorities have been unable to locate Sutton since a warrant was issued for his arrest. Authorities were summoned to a house in Lutz, Florida, where Sutton allegedly attacked a woman, who had wounds on her body.

“Our detectives have tried everything to contact him,” Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Phil Martello told reporters.

“We became aware of the ongoing legal situation involving Cam Sutton this morning,” the Lions said in a statement released Wednesday. “We will continue to monitor the situation and will not have further comment at this time.”

Sutton, 29, played six seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers before joining the Lions in 2023.
