The Philadelphia Eagles were undoubtedly active in NFL free agency, thanks to a rising salary cap and a desire to strengthen a team that lost six of its final seven games after a 10-1 start. There were numerous gaps on the Eagles roster that needed to be filled during the initial wave of free agency.

Philadelphia did not fill all of its holes, but the Eagles were able to sign the greatest running back in free agency (Saquon Barkley) and bring back C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who was much missed at safety last season. The Eagles did not make substantial improvements at linebacker, and Haason Reddick’s fate is still unknown.

As free agency begins its second wave, the Eagles will need to enhance other parts of their roster. Regarding the first wave, let us rate the Eagles’ ten additions.
The Eagles desperately needed a three-down back, and Barkley was the best option available. Last year, Philadelphia struggled to produce in the run game with D’Andre Swift and Kenneth Gainwell, making Barkley’s signing even more essential for their offence.

Barkley is moving from the third-worst run-blocking offensive line in the New York Giants to the third-best in Philadelphia. Despite playing, Barkley managed three 1,000-yard seasons and 7,311 yards from scrimmage (4.9 yards per touch).

Barkley is playing with the best offensive line and skill position combination he’s ever had in the NFL. Not to mention the top quarterback, Jalen Hurts.

Barkley isn’t the same player he was when he was drafted, but he’s still dynamic and has the ability to make an explosive play every time he touches the ball. If Barkley can stay on the field, he and the Eagles offence are poised for a breakout season.
