Detroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes does not visit many draft hopefuls’ pro days, but one Southeastern Conference institution piqued the interest of multiple NFL GMs and head coaches.
According to sources, five general managers attended Alabama’s pro day, including those from the Lions, Steelers, Bills, Titans, and Packers.
Head coaches from the Raiders, Cowboys, Steelers, and Titans were also seen watching workouts of numerous potential draft picks who played for the Crimson Tide.
Cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry wowed the crowd with a hand-timed 40-yard sprint performance of 4.43 to 4.47 seconds.
“It was unusual to me because I didn’t feel any pain in my foot. “There’s no telling how long it’s been there, or how long I’ve been playing on it,” McKinstry stated. “So, it was just a stone on my path that I had to cross in order to move forward. “God has a plan for me, and I’m following it every day.”
With Cam Sutton’s status on the Lions’ roster potentially in jeopardy, signing a player of McKinstry’s calibre may benefit Detroit’s secondary.
“I just feel like I can do it all,” McKinstry explained. “Whether you’re playing outside the corner or in the slot. I move really well and have the speed to guard whomever. Just my mentality, my consistency as an athlete, and my consistency in my daily life are all different.”
