Dallas — Unfortunately, it was not to be, and the Dallas Cowboys’ humiliating loss to the Green Bay Packers sent shockwaves that included owner and general manager Jerry Jones making a statement. It was another exciting chance for the team to turn a 12-win season into the one that ended their ongoing Super Bowl drought.
He declared, “We’ll be all in.”
Since then, there has been a flurry of urgent inquiries from all facets of NFL coverage, all eager to know exactly what Jones means, but no one has been able to provide a response. Jones himself has fueled the flames with remarks he made on the subject during the 2024 NFL Combine.
“We will be working on different players and drafting different people,” he stated. “It is distinct by its very nature. We have different coaches, therefore different people. The attention we pay to the details of our situation with the cap, our standing in the draft, and our free agents is, in my opinion, something that goes hand in hand with what it means to be ‘all in.’
“When you look at those aspects, we will be looking at every solution towards winning this year.”
Join the club if you’re still unclear after reading that response. All will become clear in due course, starting next week when the free agency frenzy commences. Additionally, Jones mentioned that the Cowboys were open to taking a significant risk in the 2024 NFL Draft by selecting a player who falls short of expectations.
Dak Prescott, an All-Pro quarterback, will just watch everything unfold.
The three-time Pro Bowler remarked, “I’ve heard that one,” while speaking at a Dallas Children’s Cancer Fund fundraiser. “To be honest, I’m eager to watch it. Although I can’t claim that we’ve discussed how he intends to make those movements, I’m looking forward to it.”
As he begins his most recent round of contract negotiations with the Cowboys, Prescott is making headlines this offseason. He is “definitely confident” that the agreement will be finalised because he will enter the final year of his current contract if a new one isn’t agreed to.
Additionally, Mike McCarthy, the head coach, must now earn an extension depending on what happens in 2024, the year that ends his contract.
