Tyson Fury confronted Francis Ngannou over a ‘coward’ remark after arriving in Saudi Arabia to witness the MMA star fight Anthony Joshua.
Fury flew in as a special guest ahead of Joshua vs Ngannou on Friday night, live on Sky Sports Box Office, and had words with the Cameroonian during a pre-fight event attended by Joshua and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ngannou stunned Britain’s WBC champion before winning by split decision in October.
Andy Lee, Joseph Parker’s trainer, witnessed the confrontation while at the event and told Sky Sports, “Listen, the past is not the past.”
“It’s still extremely fresh in my memory. This Netflix stuff just come out. The way video was edited, it appears to be primarily Francis’ struggle. He had the final say in the documentary.
“I think Tyson felt compelled to pull him up, and he did. Fair play to him.
“There was no shouting or roaring. It was just, ‘Hey, you’ve been talking about me, calling me a coward. Saying you would not fight us. I won the fight!
“I suppose that’s what fighting men do. “They won’t let things go.”
Fury is likely to attend the main event from the front row and has already promised to share the ring again with Ngannou if he produces a stunning upset victory over Joshu.
“He has a strong presence and is very loud. “He’ll be there, enjoying the fight,” Lee explained.
“You want to watch them get stuck into each other.
“He said last night to Ngannou, ‘Take care of your man and I’ll take care of my man and I’ll see you again’.”
