The Montreal Canadiens are ‘poised’ to compete in the 2025 NHL Global Series. The Canadiens intend to travel to Paris for the Global Series in 2025, according to David Pagnotta of “The Fourth Period”.

Pagnotta stated that it will not take place this year, but rather in October of the next year, with the Canadiens and NHL still finalizing plans. According to Pagnotta, Stockholm will also host the event:

“I’d also like to mention something. We discussed the Global Series a few weeks ago. We should also highlight that the Montreal Canadiens appear to be headed to Paris in 2025.”
So, not this year, but the following year, October 2025. The Canadiens and the NHL appear to be still hammering on details to send the Habs to Paris. I believe Stockholm will be the second global series host.”

Last year’s NHL Global Series saw the Arizona Coyotes and Los Angeles Kings play their first two preseason games in front of a sellout crowd at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia.

Last November, the NHL held its Global Series in the middle of the season. The Detroit Red Wings, Ottawa Senators, Minnesota Wild, and Toronto Maple Leafs headed to Sweden to play four games at the Avicii Arena in Stockholm.

According to David Pagnotta, the New Jersey Devils will face the Buffalo Sabres in Prague, Czechia, during the 2024 NHL Global Series. Both clubs will play two games in the city.

The Habs have had a disappointing season thus far. With 52 points after 58 games, the team now sits at the bottom of the Atlantic Division and 27th in the overall league ranking.

The Habs appear to be out of playoff hockey for another year, as they sit 16 points below second place in the East wild card rankings. The Habs are 2-7-1 in their previous ten games and face the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday.
