The Raiders have a fantastic opportunity to do so in this year’s NFL Draft, as there is a wealth of potential at the guard position in this year’s class.
Christian Haynes of UConn is one of the top guards.
Christian Haynes of Connecticut is one of the greatest guards in the 2024 NFL Draft class, and he would be an excellent fit for the Raiders.
Haynes started all 12 games at guard for the Huskies during his final collegiate season. He and UConn’s offensive line finished tenth in the country in sacks allowed, with only 12 for the season. Haynes was chosen to the Associated Press and College Football Network’s All-American Third Teams.
Haynes received an overall score of 80.2 from Pro Football Focus, an 80.1 grade for run blocking, an 82.5 grade for pass blocking, and an 89.2 zone grade for the 2023 season.
Haynes started all 13 games at guard the previous season, helping lead an offense that finished 33rd in the country in running with 191.0 yards per game. He won second-team All-America honors from Sporting News and third-team All-America honors from the Associated Press this season. Haynes’ overall rating for the 2022 season was 83.9, according to PFF.
