We can now begin discussing the second half of the NBA season as the trade deadline and all-star break have passed. The Hornets team has seen a lot of upheaval in recent weeks, both on and off the court.
Undoubtedly, this is just the start of a protracted process that will undoubtedly see many more changes in the years to come. But for the time being, at least for the remainder of this season, it appears the team is largely set.
The starting lineup for the rotation, which includes Cody Martin, Tre Mann, Miles Bridges, Brandon Miller, and Nick Richards, has been apparent even in the last three games. Grant Williams, Vasilije Micic, Seth Curry, and Davis Bertans are the players that come off the bench.
I only see that rotation drastically shifting if and when LaMelo Ball and Mark Williams make a full recovery from their injuries. By then, I think Bertans might be benched as the Hornets continue to play with ten players.
That will be the squad in the last stretch, and nearly every one of those players will be vying for a position going forward, whether it is in Charlotte or elsewhere in the NBA. But for now, not many elements are genuinely set in stone for the long run, making the situation incredibly stagnant. These three Hornets need to have an incredible second half to keep their jobs.
