The ‘Terrace Talk’ series from Football League World features the views of our FLW Fan Pundits on a variety of topics, including teams, players, managers, potential signings, breaking news, and more.

Two goals have been scored by the 22-year-old midfielder for Bolton in his last four league games. His goal total for the season now stands at five, along with his one assist from those two goals, which included a stunning finish on Saturday against Charlton Athletic.

Maghoma has played football in the EFL before. In the first half of the 2022–2023 season, he started 18 games for AFC Wimbledon before being brought back and sent back out on loan to MK Dons in League One.

Despite a little increase in his attacking output in recent weeks, Football League World’s Bolton enthusiast analyst remains unconvinced that the 22-year-old is a player the club should look again in the summer.

Oliver Jaques, a Bolton supporter for FLW, has stated that the Wanderers’ executives shouldn’t be considering moving forward with bringing the Brentford midfielder to the Toughsheet Community Stadium permanently.

“It’s a challenging one with Paris,” he stated. Personally, I wouldn’t try to get him signed. He’s still too raw right now. The fact that he is young and comes from a Premier League team—

, to be exact—that has a history of successful recruiting is what got them into the Premier League.

“They are not a football team the size of the Premier League, and I say this without any malice. To get to where they are, they have depended heavily on excellent recruitment. They attempt to make money off of these athletes, particularly the younger guys. Therefore, I wouldn’t look to sign him long-term. I believe that he leaves a small amount of the ball unsatisfied.

Getting the most out of him this season is all that needs to be done. Despite his hard work and occasional skill on the ball, I believe he performs best off the ball. He seems a little too inconsistent right now, in my opinion. In a few years, perhaps, he will materialize. However, you are unable to invest in a dangerous young player when you are in the lower levels. Since you lack the resources to spend like the clubs in higher divisions, you must concentrate on the present.”
