According to NHL.com’s Dave McCarthy, Nylander (illness) is expected to suit up against the Flyers on Thursday.

Nylander was not present at Wednesday’s practice, along with John Tavares and Mitchell Marner, but all three players are anticipated to be in the starting lineup. This season, the 27-year-old Nylanders has scored 26 goals in 51 games, so he should be able to cross the 40-goal mark for the second consecutive year.

When Toronto plays the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night, their forward group will have an extra lift.

Head coach Sheldon Keefe stated on Thursday morning that all three of Mitch Marner, John Tavares, and William Nylander are anticipated to start for the Maple Leafs against the Flyers.

Illness kept Marner and Tavares out of Tuesday’s 4-1 victory over the St. Louis Blues. Nylander, who was also ill with the flu, missed practice on Wednesday along with both of them.

Tavares, Marner, and Nylander all played in their typical roles in Toronto’s lineup against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.

Bobby McMann, who was going to be pulled until Marner and Tavares declared they couldn’t play on Tuesday night, scored his first NHL hat trick, making the Maple Leafs’ bottom six less definite right now.
