Jesse Chavez, a fan favorite, left the Atlanta Braves on Thursday due to free agency. The Chicago White Sox and the 40-year-old reliever reached a minor league agreement, and the reliever will report to major league Spring Training.

After sustaining a shin injury, Chavez’s 2023 with the Braves was cut short, but he still finished with a 1.56 ERA in 36 games. Given the depth of the Braves’ bullpen right now, Chavez believes that 2024 will be his last season and that he will probably not play for the Braves again in Atlanta. However, given the Braves’ history, there is never a guarantee.

Regarding the Oakland A’s stadium, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said a few things.

The Los Angeles Dodgers formally declared that they had signed right-hander Ryan Blasier to a two-year contract. Dustin May was correspondingly put on the 60-day injured list.

Outfielder Adolis Garcia and the Texas Rangers reached an agreement on a two-year deal. $14 million is guaranteed for the 30-year-old.
