In 2023, there was no stopping this offence. Under the direction of offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, the Detroit Lions offence finished second in passing yards (258.9 per game), third in total touchdowns (58), fifth in rushing yards (135.9), and fifth in points (27.1 per game) at the end of the season. Despite being a run-heavy offence, it was well-balanced and efficient both on the ground and in the air.
Certain players on the Lions continued to be their dominant selves, while others assumed more prominent positions. Though some underperformed or retreated from their standards, this unit was the strongest as a whole. Johnson will be back in 2024 as the offensive coordinator, so there won’t be much to change.
Jared Goff, the starting quarterback, established his value in 2023; this offseason, an extension is probably in the works. As I expected in August, Goff had perhaps his best NFL season, and it helped this club advance further in the standings. With 4,575 passing yards at the end of the season, Goff ranked second in the NFL in passing yards and fourth in touchdowns with 30 touchdowns. In addition, he had 32 carries for 21 yards and two scores, along with 12 interceptions.
Even though Goff had his finest season in Detroit, he did have a difficult few weeks due to turnovers, including severe issues with mishandling the ball and throwing interceptions. He did start to do his renowned spin into a sack move less frequently, and Goff.

With 1,015 rushing yards at the end of the season and 13 touchdowns, Montgomery tied for sixth place in the NFL in terms of scoring touchdowns. Moreover, he has 16 receptions for 117 yards. Despite missing three games due to injury throughout the season, Montgomery proved in those 14 games that he was well worth the money. He wasn’t simply the team’s strong back; on occasion, he displayed his speed to draw mistakes from opponents. Over the next years, he and running back Jahmyr Gibbs will be entertaining to watch together.
Goff informed Ben Johnson in the previous offseason that wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was going to have a big year, and he really did. With 1,515 yards, equal for second in catches (119), and 10 touchdowns (tied for fourth) in the NFL, St. Brown had a career year. St. Brown is a bigger threat than most people realise and is still moving up the NFL wide receiver ranks. While he may not be the largest wide receiver around, he certainly is one of the roughest.
