It gives us great pleasure to announce that Steve Georgallis will take over as the Parramatta Eels’ new NRLW Head Coach for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

Steve has played rugby league for 40 years, and he has also coached the sport for the last three years, most recently as an assistant coach for the North Queensland Cowboys.

“To make sure we develop a successful football programme for the upcoming season, I’m really looking forward to getting to know the Eels playing group and collaborating closely with assistant coach Kate Mullaly and the rest of our staff.”

It’s wonderful to manage the women’s programme and carry on the fantastic work that has already been done in that area, added Steve. “Western Sydney is the heart of rugby league, and the Parramatta Eels are a big part of that.”

“We know our NRLW team will greatly benefit from Steve’s wealth of rugby league knowledge and experience,” Parramatta Eels CEO Jim Sarantinos stated.

“We are excited for our NRLW programme to benefit from the many years of coaching experience and new perspective that Steve will bring to the Club,” Jim added. “We have made significant investments in our women’s programme.”

Steve will serve as the NRLW head coach in addition to serving as the Club’s Elite Pathways program’s coaching director.

In addition to having a lengthy coaching career that included periods as interim head coach of the Penrith Panthers in 2011 and the Bulldogs in 2020, Steve played 229 games throughout his career in both Australia and the UK. He is currently the head coach of Greece.
