In an attempt to circumvent NCAA regulations prohibiting recruiting inducements, a lawsuit was filed in the Eastern District of Tennessee. The lawsuit alleges that the NCAA is “enforcing rules that unfairly restrict how athletes can commercially use their name, image, and likeness at a critical juncture in the recruiting calendar.”
This offseason, Las Vegas must make decisions at several positions on the roster, namely on offence. Still, there are some doubts about the defence as well.
This offseason, veteran cornerback Amik Robertson will be eligible to become a free agency. If they let him go, the Raiders could have to look elsewhere for a capable player to take his position.
Robertson has performed admirably ever since joining the league. His fourth and greatest professional season was this one, as he played a lot more games.
Though most people would agree that Robertson should rejoin the Raiders, it makes sense on many levels to have him back. If they can’t come to an understanding, however, both Robertson and the Raiders have other choices.
With the 13th overall pick in the NFL Draft, the Raiders have a chance to select one of the best cornerbacks available. Additionally, there are some excellent cornerback choices available as free agents, the most notable of whom being Adoree Jackson of the New York Giants.This season, Robertson recorded a career-high 50 total tackles and two touchdowns.
Robertson has demonstrated time and time again that he is a capable starter while playing for the Raiders. But now that veteran cornerback Jack Jones has joined the team, Robertson has a real competitor for the starting spot.
If Robertson decides to return to Las Vegas, time will tell if he develops into the latent potential that has made him a reliable contributor for the Raiders.
The NFL Scouting Combine will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, from February 27 to March 4, 2024.
The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 25–27, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan. The No. 13 overall pick is presently in the hands of the Las Vegas Raiders.
