Rhys Hoskins wanted the Milwaukee Brewers to know how much he valued the Philadelphia Phillies after he found a new home with them. The unhappy way the relationship ended illustrates that this is a business.
Hoskins was aware that the Phillies had to make a decision and that this was a business, though. In that regard, Hoskins has little reason to be upset because Bryce Harper will be taking over at first base.
It was difficult for him to leave the city he loved so much, though.
The team selected him in the fifth round of the 2014 MLB Draft, and he debuted in the 2017 campaign. With 34 home runs in his second season, Hoskins stole the show.
Upon reflection of his tenure with the organisation, he adds that Philadelphia is also home to him. According to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com, Hoskins said the following.
“I’m sure I’ll run into a lot of those same people again. Simply because I think I’ll always be able to call Philadelphia home, I hope not. However, I’m eager to start a new chapter and go back to those experiences when the time is appropriate.”
Similar to the right-handed slugger, fans have shown gratitude to him on social media.
The Brewers acquire a nice guy and a clubhouse favourite in addition to a slugger. Hoskins can hit thirty or more home runs when healthy. In every season he has participated in more than 107 games, he has hit at least 27 home runs.
Hoskins was a great addition for a Milwaukee roster that has always searched for offensive punch and power in general.
