Sad news:The Kansas City Chiefs prospect involved in a terrific injury that may lead to a carrier end
Kansas City, Missouri (AP) The Kansas City Chiefs may receive injured linebacker Nick Bolton back just in time after losing his replacement, Drue Tranquill, and numerous other key players to injury in last week’s loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Bolton has been out since undergoing surgery for a dislocated wrist suffered during a Week 7 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Nick is an excellent player with a tremendous impact,” Chiefs defensive end Mike Danna said. “Just having his presence back there is going to be huge for us.”
The Chiefs also lost starting safety Bryan Cook to what appeared to be a serious ankle injury in Green Bay, though most testing have yielded positive results. Reid described it as “a sprain” and stated that he was still being evaluated.
Mike Edwards and rookie Chamarri Conner are expected to replace Cook in the lineup.
On the other side of the ball, the Chiefs are preparing to play without left tackle Donovan Smith due to a neck injury, while running back Isiah Pacheco is questionable due to a bruised shoulder.
Pacheco rushed 18 times for 110 yards and one touchdown against the Packers. If he is unable to play against the Bills, the Chiefs will rely on Clyde Edwards-Helaire and possibly Jerick McKinnon, who resumed practice Wednesday following a groyne injury.
Wanya Morris, a third-round choice in the April draft, performed admirably in Smith’s place against the Packers. He had been getting a few spot reps even before the injury, so he was ready to take over when Smith departed the game.
“Your preparation should never change,” Morris stated Wednesday. “I just have to make sure I’m focused on the details.”
