After deciding to part ways with Mike Vrabel, the Tennessee Titans are searching for their next head coach. If the Titans want to add a spark to their offense, adding one of Joe Burrow’s right hand men.
Tennessee has contacted Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan for a second – and in-person – interview, via Dan Graziano of ESPN. Callahan had already conducted a virtual interview with the Titans.
There will be enormous shoes to fill for whoever decides to succeed Vrabel. Even though the last three seasons didn’t go as expected, Tennessee’s coach led to enormous success. The Titans advanced to the AFC Championship three times and won the AFC South during their three-year postseason run. In 2021, he was named Coach of the Year.
Nevertheless, after Tennessee missed the playoffs the previous two seasons, the Titans made the decision to move on. That being said, the hunt for his successor has begun.
For the previous few seasons, Brian Callahan has been a highly sought-after candidate for coaching jobs. Since 2019, he has served as the offensive coordinator for the Bengals. He had previously been the quarterbacks coach for the Oakland Raiders and the Detroit Lions. Since 2010, Callahan has served as an NFL coach.
When Joe Burrow played a full season in 2022, Cincinnati’s offence, which averaged 360.5 yards per game, was the ninth best in the NFL. With an average of 289 yards per game, the Titans’ offence was rated 28th in the league in 2023.
