The New Orleans Saints were narrowly eliminated from the postseason. Though three teams each had a chance to win the division in week 18, the division as a whole did not do well. Even though the Saints led the Falcons by thirty points, they were still unable to win the NFC South. Following their victory over the Panthers, the Bucs were declared the division winners.

There were certain players on the offence who fell short of what was expected of them. Jamaal Williams is the first person on that list. The running back, who inked a $6 million-a-year contract with New Orleans, was coming off a season in which he led the league in rushing touchdowns. With just 300 yards and one touchdown, he was done. In comparison to the previous season, when he had 17 touchdowns, this was a big change

In 2023, New Orleans’ defence performed admirably; the offence was the one that held them back. Fingers will immediately start pointing at Derek Carr’s signal caller. Even though the Saints had high expectations for the former Raider, he still has time to improve. The Saints should consider drafting someone if they give him another chance in 24 and he still doesn’t succeed.

The Saints have the 14th pick in the 2024 draft. Andrus Peat, the starting tackle, was in his contract year in 2023 and most likely found a new place to play. This is the ideal chance to replace Peat with a draft pick who will also help shield Carr. Here, JC Latham of Alabama is a prime target.

The tackle is more over 350 pounds in weight and stands 6’6″. Although he is the third-best tackle in the draft, Olu Fashanu and Joe Alt are probably going to be selected in the top ten. Latham is a fantastic choice because he attends a school where the best offensive line players are consistently selected in the first round.

Despite his advanced age, Alvin Kamara is not slowing down. The offence will be unstoppable in 2024 if he has a season like that and Saheed and star receiver Chris Olave appear. The Saints looked better than average at numerous moments in 2023, which suggests they are only one or two players away from taking home the NFC South title.
