For their second straight meeting, the Chicago Bulls and Charlotte Hornets will have had a few days off before facing off on Monday night in North Carolina.
The home-and-home series began with a 104-91 victory by the Bulls on Friday night in Chicago.
Damage has been a contributing factor in Chicago’s struggles. The Bulls have still won twice as many games (16–21) as the Hornets (8–25).
Coach Billy Donovan would like to see more of the same from guard Coby White, who scored 22 points, dishevelled six assists, and pulled down 10 boards against his home-state team on Friday night. The game on Friday night was a bright spot. The Bulls made 40 field goals and had 29 assists on their 54.1 percent shooting from the field.
Regarding White, Donovan stated, “He needs to be aggressive in the future.” “I wouldn’t want him to change the way he’s playing or feel like he has to.”
However, there’s one area where the Bulls must make changes. They have played the same club four times already this season, and each time they have been down four games to none at the tail portion of those sets.
Zach LaVine returned from a 17-game layoff due to a foot injury, which is good news for Chicago since he played 30 minutes against Charlotte. Additionally, Nikola Vucevic made a comeback to the field following a five-game absence due to a strained left adductor.
“It wasn’t like Zach went out and we had to revamp our offence,” Donovan explained. “That is not what we ever done. But we’re getting more threes. The going is becoming worse. We are grabbing more offensive rebounds.”
