This season, the Los Angeles Dodgers will add a significant piece to their bullpen. J.P. Feyereisen, a right-handed bullpen pitcher, will be making his mound comeback after missing all of 2023 due to surgery on his shoulder labrum and rotator cuff.

After being acquired from Tampa Bay throughout the offseason, he has been recovering from his injuries. Adding Feyereisen to the mix should only help Los Angeles, who had one of the best bullpens in the league in the second half of 2023, continue to improve.

Following a prolonged absence, Feyereisen gave an update on his physical condition in an interview with Doug McKain of dodgersnation.com.

“At that same moment, if not physically improved. My arm feels fantastic, and last year was a very decent reset. It hasn’t caused me any problems. Since the conclusion of the previous year, no obstacles. I’m in good spirits. I’m eager about this year as a result.

Feyereisen is expected to contribute significantly to the Dodgers’ bullpen in the upcoming campaign. He will try to maintain his scoreless streak after making his last pitching appearance in 2022 with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Feyereisen pitched 24.1 innings for the Rays in 2022 and gave up no runs. Should he manage to replicate this kind of output in Los Angeles, the Dodgers will have acquired a great deal.

“I’ve spent the entire off-season playing catch. In order to escape this Wisconsin winter and experience some warmer weather, I’m really going to travel down a little early in the spring. I’ll spend some time at the complex working with some of the coaches and players.

The Dodgers have not made many additions to their bullpen in the winter because it is not absolutely necessary. They have more hope this year from Feyereisen than they did the previous, and the team is counting on him to keep getting good results when he takes the mound.
