On Friday, the week of practice at the 2024 All-American Bowl finished up. Both the east and west squads finished up with walkthroughs, getting prepared for gameday on Saturday. During the course of the week, four Notre Dame signees participated, including wide receiver Cam Williams
and elite linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asaon the West squad, and running back Kedren Young and star pass rusher Bryce Young on the East. Here is how each player fared this week.
It was a good all around week for Young, who was considered one of the most natural runners in the 2024 recruiting class heading into the week. Hearing that the Texas standout showcased great patience and vision as a runner shouldn’t be surprising. At 217 pounds, Young is an impressive blend of power and explosiveness. On a team with James Peoples (Ohio State) and Chauncey Bowens (Georgia), Young had a good argument as the most physically impressive of the group. The biggest question mark coming into the event was Young’s impact in the passing game. He made just three receptions as a senior, which appears to be much more of a product of the Lufkin system than a deficiency in his game.
On the first day, Young quickly showed the traits needed to develop big time in that department. He is a smooth mover and is a natural hands catcher, with very solid ball skills. Early on in the week, he showed some moments of being unsure how to attack leverage and settle down in zones. That
improved a ton during the week, giving high hope for the future. DE BRYCE YOUNG From the onset of the week, Young quickly caught everyone’s attention. From a physical perspective, he is incredibly impressive. He is long, powerful and explosive. Young had arguably the best frame for a defensive lineman on either team as well. Down the line he should be able to add a ton more weight and not sacrifice athleticism.
