The roster of the San Francisco 49ers is deep going into the 2023 campaign. The 49ers’ inclusion on the 2023 NFL Top 100 list is evidence of it. Based on their performance from the previous season, current players from across the league cast votes to determine the top 100 players in the NFL.
NFL Network releases the list with ten player rankings every day before to the commencement of a new season. Unsurprisingly, NFL Most Valuable Player and reigning Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes took first place among the players. The 49ers were well-represented on this year’s Top 100, despite not having the best player overall on the list.
Eight 49ers players, including four in the top 20 and one in the top five, were listed in the NFL Top 100 in 2023. The 49ers’ top player on the list is edge rusher Nick Bosa, who is ranked No. 4. Other players that made the top 20 include Trent Williams, Fred Warner, and George Kittle. Dre Greenlaw, a linebacker, and Talanoa Hufanga, a defensive back, both debuted in the NFL Top 100.
This year’s exclusions from the list included defensive tackle Arik Armstead, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, cornerback Charvarious Ward, and defensive tackle Javon Hargrave.
The 49ers are the NFL team with the most players in the 2023 set of rankings, with eight players on the list of the top 100.
