Due to connections to Dion Charles, scouts from Hull City and Swansea City attended last Friday’s Bolton Wanderers game against Fleetwood Town, as reported by The Bolton News.
With the January transfer market now open, representatives from Hull City and Swansea City examined the Trotters.
Prior to the second half of the Championship season, both teams had the opportunity to strengthen their rosters.
According to The Belfast Telegraph, the two are eager to sign Charles.
Scouts from Swansea City and Hull City watch as Bolton Wanderers play.
Hull is currently one point behind Sunderland and outside the top six. Liam Delap, Aaron Connolly, and Billy Sharp are Liam Rosenior’s current strike options as they look to advance to the Premier League.
With Jean Michael Seri representing Ivory Coast in the AFCON, the Tigers will need to add some midfield depth this winter. Bolton’s George Thomason might be a viable alternative for them in the middle of the park, despite the lack of solid connections.
Swansea, on the other hand, must resolve their managerial issues before considering any acquisitions this month. Their decision to fire Michael Duff left them without a permanent leader, and Alan Sheehan is still serving as interim manager.
Bolton will be fighting to hang on to important players like Charles as they look to move up from League One. Given his goal-scoring prowess this season, curiosity in the former Accra player is unavoidable.
With 16 goals thus far, he is just five goals short of his total from the entire previous season. On New Year’s Day, the Trotters defeated Burton Albion 1-0 at home.
