In an impressive 101-66 nonconference victory over Chattanooga in Auburn, Alabama, Auburn never trailed thanks to 18 points and 8 rebounds from Johni Broome. In just twenty minutes, Broome made nine out of twelve field goals for the Tigers, who went on to improve to 10-2 and extend their winning run to five games. Jaylin Williams scored 21 points and made all nine of his shots, while Chad Baker-Mazara scored 13 points after coming off the bench.

The Mocs (8-5) were led by Honour Huff’s 15 points, and Sam Alexis’ 13 points, however it wasn’t nearly enough. Chattanooga was outrebounded 46–23 on the glass and only made 36.1% of its field goal attempts, including 11 of 33 from the 3-point range.

Auburn’s offence was clicking, as they shot a season-high 56.1 percent from the field (11 of 25 from 3-point range) and pulled down 23 assists on 37 made baskets. With a big 43–20 bench scoring edge, 52–20 paint scores, and 14-0 fast-break points, the Tigers were unbeatable. Auburn, which was playing its first game in eight days, didn’t play around. It scored the first 12 points of the contest, keeping the Mocs scoreless until 15:22 remained on an incredible 3-pointer by Alexis. With eight points, Broome was the first player to change their shape offensively.

With 20 seconds left, Broome turned a Baker-Mazara feed into a layup to cap off a 14-point first half that put them ahead 49-27 at the intermission. Auburn made 19 of 36 field goal attempts and limited Chattanooga to 9 of 30 accurate field goals. The Tigers’ lead was 30 points for the first time after Dylan Cardwell’s layup with 13:06 remainig in the game, and it remained that way for the majority of the remaining minutes.
