Following a recent inspection, Green Fold School, located on Highfield Road in Farnworth, received the highest rating possible from Ofsted.

The special school received a “outstanding” rating in every category, including early years services, behaviour and attitudes, leadership and management, personal development, and educational excellence.

Inspectors Dawn Farrent and Sue Eastwood of His Majesty’s Department of Education gave the institution multiple praises.

According to the report, students enjoy attending Green Fold School. It is an environment where every student thrives.

“Staff members are fervently committed to giving students the greatest education possible.

“The staff-student relationships are outstanding. Students are aware of the staff’s genuine concern for them and the fact that an adult is always there to help.

“From early years to the oldest pupils, there is no ceiling placed upon what staff want pupils to achieve,” the report claims.Staff members are well-aware of the special and complicated needs of each student.This guarantees that students—all of whom have special educational needs and/or disabilities—are incredibly well-prepared for their future steps in education, in conjunction with an aspirational curriculum.


“The curriculum that the school has created is quite ambitious and incredibly successful.

The curriculum thought process at this school is very well thought out and shows a strong commitment to providing each student with rich and interesting learning opportunities.

“Staff possess a profound comprehension of how to modify curriculum delivery for every student.”

The personnel was also commended in the report.

“Governors share the school’s ambition and commitment,” the statement reads. Employees appreciate the help they get with their workload and general well-being.

“Staff members take great pride in their work at the school and are committed to helping students and their families live better lives.”

“I am thrilled that Green Fold School has been recognised for having a highly effective and ambitious curriculum, that places no ceiling on achievement,” says principal Gary Anders.

“I have the honour of leading a remarkable group of individuals who genuinely care about the kids and pursue greatness.

“I want to express my gratitude to the faculty and entire school community for their dedication and support in ensuring that every student receives the individualised attention they require.

“Including our governors, who kindly donate their time to help our school and diligently strive to hold school administrators accountable.
