Tommy DeVito, a rookie quarterback, has given the New York Giants, who were losing the season from the start in 2023, some life in Daniel Jones’s absence. The Philadelphia Eagles will play the Giants twice more in the next three weeks, including a game at Lincoln Financial Field on Christmas Day. This will give them the whole “Tommy Cutlets” experience.

DeVito, for his part, says he’s looking forward to visiting Philadelphia for the first time as a professional and that he won’t back down from the anticipated animosity that Lincoln Financial Field usually elicits.

It’s enjoyable. That’s how the game works. DeVito declared on Thursday, “I enjoy a hostile crowd.”

DeVito continued by saying that he would “say Merry Christmas right back” to any Eagles supporters who would send him holiday wishes on Monday night.

For the Giants this season, the 25-year-old has been more than just an entertaining story. After starting five of the seven games in which DeVito has participated, the Giants have a 3-2 record. For coach Brian Daboll his team, DeVito has thrown eight touchdown passes to just three interceptions. He has also added 190 running yards and a touchdown scamper.

After a heartbreaking late-game loss in a 20-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, quarterback Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles tied a single-season NFL record on Monday night. However, the news was met with about as much celebration as Lt. Dan at a New Year’s Eve party.

Hurts still has 14 touchdowns this season, including two more in the Monday Night Football defeat. That eclipsed his previous career high of 13 and tied Cam Newton’s record for the most running touchdowns in a single season (2011) while he was a rookie with the Carolina Panthers.

Of course, there were only 16 regular season games in 2021—as opposed to the 17 games that the NFL moved to—when Newton set that record. Hurts, however, just needed 14 games to tie the former NFL MVP’s single-season record. Hurts will have his chance to take over the lead in the season’s 15th game, which will take place at Lincoln Financial Field on Christmas Day against the New York Giants.
