Following their thrilling victory over the Michigan Wolverines in a double overtime shootout at the Jumpman Invitational, the Florida Gators are back in Gainesville and prepared to welcome the Grambling State Tigers.
Starting on January 6, the Gators take on Kentucky in the SEC opener of the 2023–24 season. The contest kicks off a three-game home stand at Exactech Arena.
With the Tigers on an eight-game losing run and their most recent loss coming at the hands of Southeastern Louisiana University by a mere point, 47-48, Florida has Grambling State exactly where they want them.
Twice this season, against Champion Christian College and the University of North Texas at Dallas, Grambling State scored more than 80 points. Other than that, teams who are probably going to punch a ticket to March Madness have destroyed the Tigers.
The Gators will look to add another dominant win to its resume if all things go right in front of a raucous crowd in the O’Dome.
Let’s take a look at how the teams will line up on Friday afternoon.
