The Seattle Seahawks’ backup quarterback, Drew Lock, drove 92 yards for the game-winning touchdown in the last minute, causing the Philadelphia Eagles to falter and lose their third straight game as the defending NFC champions.
Jalen Hurts, who was quiet after the offence was kept to fewer than 20 points for the third straight game, blamed the team’s general lack of dedication and execution after the team lost 20–17.
After Monday’s defeat, he remarked, “I’ve been talking about execution all year, being on the same page, everyone being on the same page.” “We failed to perform. I don’t believe that any of us has given it our all. All you have to do is flip it. You know, we have to rise to the task. Just keep going till it’s finished.”
When questioned about his lack of commitment, Hurts said, “Commitment. I’m not carrying a dictionary right now. I have no other way to put it.”
The 25-year-old quarterback is capable of playing deceit, but he is aware of how people will read his comments because he is the coach’s son and has experience playing in major programmes. It’s a statement. Possibly to himself first and foremost.
“Everyone plays a part in it. “It begins with me,” he declared. “We must rescue ourselves from this situation. We need to rethink our strategy from the inside out. How we arrive at work each day. The small things matter most, such as our level of dedication to our work. And me, the quarterback, is where it all begins. It’s a challenge I gladly accept. Even if things are difficult right now, I can still see the finish in sight. Just need to have faith.”
Hurts was only allowed 143 passing yards and threw two interceptions in the fourth quarter, one of which forced a long pass on the final play when a field goal would have knotted the game. Hurts was playing despite illness, so overall, the Eagles offence was a misfire even if the quarterback contributed 82 running yards and two rushing touchdowns.
Hurts stated following the game, “It’s a matter of being on the same page.” “Everyone must give it their all in every way. And I’m the first to do it. There are plenty of options available. Ultimately, there simply isn’t a different option. The degree of mutual trust and communication amongst us as players. All we need to do is improve; I need to improve. Reduce the number of errors, fines, and mental missteps. Play football as a team, and I take the lead in that. I can do better; we’ve lost games because of it. Everything will alter as a result, and I accept it.

The Eagles offence is simply too good to be playing with the erratic play they have been exhibiting lately. It was awful to get hammered by the Cowboys and 49ers. being thwarted by a Seahawks defence that had already lost a lot of games this year? Even worse.
“You can point the finger at whatever,” he replied. “I didn’t do a good enough job.”
The Eagles have been out of commission for the majority of the season for various reasons. The defence is being set on fire one week. The offender then fails to locate the on-button. Nick Sirianni’s team managed to make it work during the first half of the season. The inconsistencies have hurt them over the past three weeks.
