The safety room of the Steelers continues to dwindle. Safety Damontae Kazee of the Steelers had his regular season come to an official end today as his suspension was maintained, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter.

In the event that they advance to the postseason, Kazee will be allowed to rejoin the club.

Steelers S Minkah Fitzpatrick questionable to return with knee injury

After hitting wide receiver Michael Pittman of the Indianapolis Colts in the head and neck, Kazee was dismissed from the Steelers’ Week 15 matchup with the Colts. Soon after, the NFL suspended Kazee due to his repeated offences of hits that were considered serious enough to warrant a fine. Despite Kazee’s appeal, the NFL maintained its decision, with the caveat that Kazee would now be eligible for the playoffs should the Steelers manage to make it.

Kazee will now forfeit the remaining game checks for the 2023 regular season, which is a setback. It’s bad news for the Steelers as well, as they will now be without several of their best safeties going into their Week 16 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. In addition to Trenton Thompson missing practice this week due to an injury, Pittsburgh will be without Kazee, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and Keanu Neal (injured reserve).
