Pittsburgh — When tight end Pat Freiermuth appeared on the practice report with a knee injury, the Pittsburgh Steelers had a somewhat nerve-wracking ailment to begin Week 16.

Practice participation for Freiermuth was restricted because of an injury that either prevented him from practicing or happened during a practice. Head coach Mike Tomlin did not bring him up in his summary of this week’s injuries.

Before facing the Cincinnati Bengals, the Steelers will undergo a walk-through after two more days of intense practice. The squad and the fans should keep a watch on Freiermuth’s health since his availability over the next two practices will be critical to his availability on game day.

In the absence of Freiermuth, Darnell Washington and Connor Heyward would start for the team, with Rodney Williams serving as a depth player.

Due to a hamstring injury, Freiermuth has already missed time this season.

On Thursday, the Steelers will release their final injury report.

Pittsburgh still has a chance to make the playoffs, but in order to maintain that momentum over the final three weeks, they must start winning again.
