Early National Signing Day, which is scheduled for Wednesday, December 20, marks the beginning of one of the busiest weeks in college football recruiting.

The Michigan Wolverines are anticipated to sign a large number of outstanding athletes. Here are the main plots that Michigan fans should be watching till then.

Do Edokpayi and/or Bair sign?
Two of the best uncommitted athletes in the 2024 class, four-star wide receiver Gatlin Bair and four-star edge Lugard Edokpayi, have been targeted by Michigan.

At the beginning of this month, Bair announced that he was concentrating his recruiting efforts on Michigan and Oregon and had withdrawn from Boise State. Colston Loveland, a current tight end for the Wolverines and a native of Idaho, told The Michigan Insider he’s “putting in a little word” to Bair about.

Last month, Bair attended The Game at Michigan. The top-50 wide receiver will not be on the campus of his prospective institution until 2026, as he is embarking on a two-year mission trip. Nonetheless, he may have a significant impact in a few seasons if Michigan could secure a commitment.

Before Thanksgiving, Edokpayi, who is ranked just outside of the top 300 on the 247 Composite, accepted an offer from Michigan. Prior to his formal visit last week, a few coaches conducted an in-home visit. At 6-foot-6 and 230 pounds, the Maryland native is a fantastic size and has the potential to become a solid edge rusher and defensive lineman.

According to 247, Bair and Edokpayi both have Michigan crystal balls. We’ll be watching to see if they sign later this week or wait until the next signing day in the winter.

This week, which commitments sign?
Numerous athletes in the 2024 class have already committed to the Wolverines. There are already 26 solid pledges, led by offensive lineman Andrew Sprague, running back Jordan Marshall, and quarterback Jadyn Davis.

The majority of the players are expected to sign on Wednesday; they have been committed since the spring. This week, we’ll cover a lot of ground when it comes to signings, and we’ll keep you informed on any developments if any prominent commitments decide not to sign.

Where is Michigan’s class standing in the country?
Now that they have won the Big Ten, the Wolverines have advanced to the College Football Playoffs three times in a row. It’s reasonable to claim that Michigan is among the best college football programmes in the nation after taking the top place in the rankings and only dropping one regular season game in the previous three seasons.
