The Braves are keeping busy and waiting game-wise as they manoeuvre through the 2023–2024 offseason. For starters, the Braves dismissed veteran Matt Carpenter on Monday following their acquisition of him in their most recent trade over the weekend. The Braves preferred to keep Carpenter off the roster versus keeping him, even though they probably searched for a trade option. The $4 million that Atlanta still owes the veteran slugger is their responsibility.
Atlanta will therefore try to keep adding essential players to their squad. The Braves may still make a number of trades in the near future to address a few issues, like the starting rotation and the bench.

Bally Sports made the announcement on Monday that C.J. Nitkowski has been hired to serve as an analyst for the Atlanta Braves on Bally Sports South and Bally Sports Southeast, starting in 2024. Play-by-play commentator Brandon Gaudin, a second-year employee, will collaborate with Nitkowski.
Over the past few seasons, Bally Sports’ Braves broadcast booth has featured a rotating roster of commentators. Jeff Francoeur, a former outfielder, has been the main voice, but he is stepping down to spend more time with his family.
“My family comes first, and it’s time for me to enter a new season,” Francoeur declared. “My wife and I are adjusting to the fact that our years are passing quickly, and I want to see my kids pursue their aspirations, thus I will be leaving my position as the Braves lead commentator. I’m grateful that Bally Sports will still allow me to call games for the team I’ve always loved and I’m looking forward to what lies ahead.
Beginning in 2024, Francouer and Hall of Famer Tom Glavine will both work fewer games.
Six Lone Star Emmys have been earned by Nitkowski, who joined the Texas Rangers broadcast team in 2017 as an analyst. Having previously served as an analyst for both FOX and FS1 from 2014 to 2019, he has experience in national television.
“My family and I are ecstatic to return home and be awarded this incredible chance to become a part of the Bally Sports Atlanta Braves broadcast team,” Nitkowski stated. “In the industry, one of the most prestigious telecasts is the Braves baseball game on Bally Sports. Bally Sports and the Braves have chosen me to join their team and carry on their legacy of excellence in television broadcasting, and I am honoured by this.
