Alabama got some bad news on Friday when offensive tackle Elijah Pritchett announced he was entering the transfer portal. He was the fourth-ranked tackle in the 2023 class and was a part of a rotation on the line this season. This left the Crimson Tide with a void in a very important position. However, the team got a good surprise on Saturday when Prichett shockingly reversed his decision.

“Transferring is not in my best interest. I apologize for any and all inconveniences. I’m 100% locked in. Roll Tide!” Pritchett wrote on social media. It took less than 24 hours for the tackle to reverse his decision. Nick Saban keeps the 6-foot-6, 325-pound tackle in the program for the time being. It seems like Saban did not want to lose Pritchett. In the time from the announcement to now, someone talked to the talented player and got him to recommit to the program. This is a good situation to keep in mind. Not every player who enters the portal will find another team. Some will have no offers and end up returning to their previous program. At any point, players can pull their name from the portal so we may see that happen as the offseason wears on. For the Crimson Tide, this solidifies the left side of their line for the near future. Pritchett may play an important role in helping the offense overcome a tough Michigan defense.
