Whether or not a number is added to the win column is the only statistic that counts on Sunday. That won’t be possible until late on Sunday night, so as the clock counts down to the Dallas Cowboys’ (9-3) enormous game against the Philadelphia Eagles (10-2) there are a few landmarks that would put the cherry on top.

Over the course of the Cowboys’ existence, a number of legendary players have left their mark on the team’s record, breaking records that some may have thought would never be broken. Even though Emmitt Smith will likely continue to hold the record for most rushes, there are a few unexpected feats that could be surpassed in Week 14.

Getting through a game without Cowboys cornerback DaRon Bland recording an interception might be more surprising at this point. At an incredible rate, he’s taking the ball away, with a league-high eight picks this season and 13 overall.

Bland’s next interception will move him up to 16th place on the Cowboys’ all-time interception list, tying Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders. The other players with 14 career picks for Dallas are linebacker Sean Lee, safety James Washington, and defensive back Bill Bates.

Despite his rapid progress, Bland is still a long way from becoming the all-time leading interceptionscorer for the Cowboys and Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback Mel Renfro, who concluded his career with 52 interceptions.

The Cowboys opened as 3.5-point favorites in their crucial game against Philadelphia, and the Vegas line is still in place. Anticipating a close contest, heroics in the closing minutes of the game could tip the NFC’s scales, and Dak Prescott’s game-winning drive would vault him above “Captain Comeback” himself.

When his team was facing certain defeat, Hall of Fame quarterback Roger Staubach was renowned for his ability to will his team to victory. At the end of his 131-game career, he had 21 game-winning drives, which put him atop the Cowboys record books.
