Braylon Harmon, a Tennessee wide receiver prospect and current wideout at Knoxville Catholic High School, officially de-committed from Wofford less than a month after receiving an offer.
Wide receiver Harmon, a 5-9, 180-pound native of Knoxville, Tennessee, attends Knoxville Catholic High School. He had a strong season and is a prospect for 2024. The senior was very dangerous on punt and kick returns, averaging 20.2 yards per return with two touchdowns on punt returns and 364 yards returned overall. He also had 1,071 yards and nine touchdowns in the receiving category. He averaged 31.3 yards per return on kick returns, with 719 yards and four touchdowns.
Though he was still committed to Wofford, Harmon had a conversation with Volunteer Country earlier in November. He said, “It means a lot to me to be able to get the offer, especially being born and raised here; getting a chance to play for them has always been a dream!” He added at the time, “A program like Tennessee is unquestionably a factor. The ambience and personnel are excellent. It’s special whenever you get to perform in both your hometown and Neyland.”
“I have always dreamed and worked to play football at the highest level,” he says in his address to the public. I want to express my gratitude to God for bestowing upon me this gift of ability and talent. I’ve been fortunate enough to play in a division that has equipped me to perform at a high level. For helping me get to where I am now, I would like to thank my family, trainers, instructors, and coaches. I’m grateful to the Wofford College coaches and staff for their support and belief in me, as well as for giving me the opportunity to play D1 football. After much contemplation and discussion with my family, I have made the decision to withdraw from Wofford. I appreciate you honoring my choice, and I’m looking forward.
His opening line, “I have always dreamed and worked to play football at the highest level,” was a crucial component of the message. That may indicate something positive for the Volunteers. Given the timing and location of this recruitment, Tennessee is unquestionably a team to take into consideration. East Tennessee State, Eastern Kentucky, Army, East Carolina, Navy, and numerous other teams are worth taking into account. The 2024 class is drawing near, and the Vols still have a few guys on the roster. Officially, Harmon is now a possibility for this outstanding 2024 class.
