Dallas Goedert’s injury may prompt the Eagles, who are constantly seeking to bolster their roster, to consider bringing back a potential Ring of Honor candidate.

Zach Ertz and the Cardinals mutually parted ways, with Arizona choosing to go forward with Trey McBride as the starting tight end and letting Ertz play his remaining games elsewhere.

Since Ertz was left unclaimed, he is now free to sign with any team. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Philadelphia is interested in adding Ertz to the team.

Zach Ertz, a former tight end for the Cardinals, cleared waivers today and can now sign with any team, according to a source. Re-signing Ertz is expected to be of interest to the Eagles, a team that needs 11 receptions to pass Harold Carmichael and become their all-time leading receiver.

Even so, when he is not in the lineup, Ertz can still be a reliable safety net for Jalen Hurts. His production at the position has been limited.

With the most catches by a tight end in a single season—579 receptions, 6,267 yards, and 38 touchdowns—Ertz left Philadelphia. He left a lasting impression on the city and will be remembered as one of the greatest players in franchise history.
