The Detroit Lions have confirmed Alex Anzalone’s status for Week 13’s game against the Saints.
The Detroit Lions lost their most recent Thanksgiving Day game at Ford Field to division rivals the Green Bay Packers due to an injury sustained by linebacker Alex Anzalone in the fourth quarter. Regretfully, it has been
confirmed that Anzalone will not be able to play in the forthcoming game against the New Orleans Saints and will not be traveling with the team for the game down south.
Anzalone sustained an injury against the Packers.
Anzalone sustained a hand injury late in the fourth quarter against Green Bay, forcing him to leave the field so that the training staff could evaluate and treat him. He hasn’t practiced this week.
He is not going to New Orleans with the Lions.
With 87 tackles, he now leads the Lions in tackles. In addition, he has already set a new career high with three sacks and nine quarterback hits.
Anzalone will not be traveling to New Orelans with the Lions, it was confirmed minutes ago on X (formerly Twitter).
The NFL schedule, regrettably, doesn’t allow for players to recover from injuries, so the Lions will have to rely on their depth to cover Anzalone’s absence. Malcolm Rodriguez, Derrick Barnes, and Jack Campbell are a few players the team will be counting on to help lighten the load.
