Luis Palma concedes that Brendan Rodgers’ claim that Celtic need higher caliber players to contend in the Champions League is hard to refute.

Like the team, the Honduran international has experienced more lows than highs in his first season in the top European club football competition.

Palma shares Rodgers’ belief that adding more seasoned players to his team will increase their competitiveness.

The winger stated, “It’s not hard to hear that because the manager is right.” We must pay attention to him, grow from him, and take advice from him. We need to demonstrate that we are better so that we can compete in the Champions League again.

Certainly, we can do better. I can say that in order to get better results next season, our team can improve.

Palma was suspended for the midweek loss to Lazio, which guarantees Celtic won’t play in Europe come January 1.

Even though he is disappointed, the player believes he has advanced significantly to this point.

“I feel like I’ve learned a lot from the first game against Feyenoord,” he continued. Additionally, based on the gaffer’s feedback, I believe I’ve made significant progress.

“Hopefully, I have more to share with you. We can definitely get better as a team in the Champions League. I can say that in order to get better results next season, our team can improve.

This afternoon, Celtic will face St Johnstone in a homecoming match. They had trouble last weekend breaking down a tight Motherwell defense, and they should expect a similar struggle in Perth. However, Palma accepted the responsibility of bringing about change without hesitation.

“Most domestic teams play with a back five most of the time since I’ve been at Celtic,” he continued. Since there isn’t much room, our team must put in a lot of effort in each game. I have to look to score and create opportunities when I get the chance.
