The SEC Championship is one of the most coveted trophies in college football, and the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide will square off for it. These two teams will play for the SEC championship for the fourth time,
and for the third time in the past ten years. Georgia has lost all four meetings with Alabama. The Dawgs did win the most recent meeting between these two teams in the 2022 national championship, defeating the Tide 33–18 to give Georgia its first national championship in forty-one years, despite the fact that the Tide has never been defeated in Atlanta. Since then, the Bulldogs have won 29 straight games, setting a new record. They have not lost a game.
While in Atlanta for the SEC Championship game, College Gameday finalized their predictions for the eagerly awaited Nick Saban vs. Kirby Smart matchup. College Football Gameday Selections: Desmond Howard: I’m siding with the Tide because of what transpired at Auburn a week ago. Theo Von (Guest Picker): Go Dawgs, baby, you just can’t shake that bite. Pat McAfee: Alabama, please. Prior to selecting the Tide, Pat made a call to the Dawgs. Kirk Herbstreit: Carson Beck is the hero, and I think Georgia will win this game.
