The league on Thursday set the date on which it will reveal next year’s regular-season football schedule. That’s how long Oklahoma football supporters will have to wait to find out the complete 2024 schedule for their team.
The SEC football reveal is scheduled for December 13 and will be broadcast live on ESPN and the SEC Network, the conference announced on Thursday. The Sooners already have dates for three non-conference games: August 31 against Temple, September 7 against Houston, and September 14 against Tulane. Fans were given a taste of what to expect when ESPN revealed a partial 2024 broadcast schedule last week, which included Tennessee at Oklahoma on September 21 and Alabama visiting Norman on November 23.
Due to the SEC’s eight-game conference schedule in place for next year, OU’s home game against FCS opponent Maine hasn’t been added to the calendar yet, but it is expected to be played in November, when SEC schools usually step out of conference play for a week.
What is known are Oklahoma’s opponents and venues: Texas in Dallas, Auburn, LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss, home games against Alabama, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
In July 2021, OU and Texas announced their plans to leave the Big 12 and join the SEC. Originally slated to arrive in 2025, the schools, the SEC, and the Big 12 came to an agreement in February of last year that would enable the membership transition to take place in 2024.
