On Thanksgiving Day, the Seattle Seahawks suffered a devastating 31-13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers (8-3), dropping them to 6-5 on the season.

The Seahawks, who are trying to win their second straight divisional game, will have a difficult task in Week 13 against the Dallas Cowboys (8-3), who enter the game with the best point differential in the league (plus-162).

In an interview with media on November 27, Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf acknowledged the strength of the Cowboys’ defense, especially that of cornerback DaRon Bland. On Thanksgiving, in the Cowboys’ 45-10 victory over the Washington Commanders, Bland set a new NFL record with his fifth pick-6 of the year.
“I thought, ‘He has more touchdowns than me!'” Says Metcalf, in a remark that went viral on X (previously known as Twitter) very quickly.

This season, Bland has caught seven interceptions; he has converted five of them into touchdowns. Metcalf has only scored three touchdowns this season. The 25-year-old wide receiver acknowledged the Cowboys rookie of the year.

Bland “shaves angles and meets the ball, which is what receivers should do.” And he does it with remarkable skill. It’s uncommon to see a cornerback with his level of ease and dexterity tracking and catching the ball.

The offense of the Seahawks is in a serious slump. Kicker Jason Myers has outscored the receiving group in each of the last four games. There have only been three touchdowns scored by quarterback Geno Smith and team. It’s confusing that they can’t score more goals with Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba on the team.
