Chuba Akpom, an attacking player for Ajax, is reportedly “open” to joining Everton in the Premier League, according to TEAMtalk.
On Sunday, November 26, the publication said on its website that his current club is open to discussing a loan arrangement.
Many of Everton’s Premier League rivals, including Crystal Palace and Fulham, are also interested in the 28-year-old, according to TEAMtalk.
Six months after joining Ajax from Middlesbrough, the current Championship Player of the Year “may be handed a move back to the UK in January,” per TEAMtalk.
“Ajax is willing to consider a loan deal, and there is interest,” sources have now told TEAMtalk about Akpom’s openness to the idea of moving to the Premier League.
The 28-year-old is being watched by Everton, Burnley, Luton Town, Sheffield United, and Crystal Palace, who are all very interested in a potential deal.
Sean Dyche, the manager of Everton, devoted a lot of time to bolstering his team during the summer transfer window. He also paid close attention to the final third, where strikers like Youssef Chermiti and Beto were signed.
In an effort to give his team more goals, Dyche also brought in forwards Arnaut Danjuma and Jack Harrison on loan.
Star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin struggled with injuries during the period of the new arrivals, but he has since recovered to secure a regular starting position up front.
But the Toffees haven’t exactly been consistent in scoring goals, so the man in the dugout may start using former Championship star Akpom as early as January.
With so many teams reportedly interested in the 28-year-old, it appears the manager will have his work cut out for him if he tries to persuade him to move to Goodison Park during the next transfer window.
