onger listed as injured and appears to have cleared the concussion protocol, which is good news.
James Hurst, an offensive lineman, was fully active on Thursday following his absence on Wednesday due to illness. Ryan Ramczyk, an offensive tackle, was limited and absent on Thursday due to a knee injury. Isaiah Foskey, a defensive end, was limited both days due to a quadricep.
With first place in the NFC South up for grabs, the Falcons and Saints will kick off at 1 p.m. EST on Sunday inside Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
FALCONS RELEASED BYRD ON NOV. 22 Damiere Byrd, a receiver, was cut by the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday from their practice squad.
The 30-year-old Byrd played for the Falcons during the 2022 season, making 14 appearances, earning four starts, and hauling in 13 receptions for 268 yards and two touchdowns.
For almost two months following his release from the Carolina Panthers prior to the season, Byrd was a free agent. On October 19, the Falcons signed him.
In Week 9 against the Minnesota Vikings, Byrd made just one appearance during his second stint in Atlanta. He saw two targets but was unable to record a catch.
Although the Falcons haven’t made an announcement in that regard, it seems likely that they will add a kicker given that Younghoe Koo (back) missed practice on Wednesday.
BATTLE FOR THE SOUTH ON NOV. 21 The Atlanta Falcons have the opportunity to take back the top spot in the NFC South after their bye week. They have lost six of their last eight games and are currently on a three-game losing streak, but a victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday would put them atop the division.
